The Daughters of Deadpool

Meet Ellie Camacho, Warda Wilson, Princess, and the other young women that Wade Wilson has taken under his wing.

Deadpool may be a remorseless mercenary with a zany sense of humor, but he can also be a surprisingly sensitive father figure. Throughout his bloody adventures across the Marvel Universe, the Merc with a Mouth has served as a mentor to several young people in need of guidance.

Even though Deadpool's whole existence is generally a chaotic mess, he genuinely tries to help those who look up to him avoid the mistakes he once made. While life might be a joke to Deadpool, taking care of kids is something he takes completely seriously.

Now, let's take a closer look at the daughters of Deadpool. In addition to breaking down some of Deadpool's direct genetic descendants, we'll also look at a few characters for whom Deadpool has acted as a parental figure, just as his new series sets off in DEADPOOL (2024) #1 by Cody Ziglar, Rogê Antônio, Guru-eFX, and VC's Joe Sabino.

ELLIE CAMACHO

Ellie Camacho was born after a short fling between Deadpool and Carmelita Camacho. With Deadpool unaware of her existence, Ellie was raised by her mother until she was kidnapped by a Weapon Plus operative named Butler.

After the death of Uatu the Watcher caused numerous secrets throughout the Marvel Universe to be revealed, one of Deadpool's friends, S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Emily Preston, learned Butler's brother had been raising Ellie in DEADPOOL (2012) #29 by Gerry Duggan, Brian Posehn, and John Lucas. Just as the Flag-Smasher's U.L.T.I.M.A.T.U.M. agents tracked Ellie down, Deadpool rescued her and revealed he was her father.

To keep Ellie safe from his enemies, Deadpool sent her to live with Agent Preston and her family. Wade regularly visited her and kept a close watch over her, even killing everyone in U.L.T.I.M.A.T.U.M. when they threatened her again. However, Deadpool and Ellie drifted apart when Wade's unquestioning loyalty to Captain America led him to start working for Hydra's regime during SECRET EMPIRE (2017).

After an inconsolable Deadpool erased his memories, Ellie tracked him down and tried to help him be a better person. Once he regained his memories, Deadpool saved Ellie from Mephisto before sending her back to live with Preston's family again. In one possible 2099 future timeline, Ellie has a mutant power that resurrects her as a teenager whenever she dies, and she carries on her father's legacy as a new Deadpool.

PRINCESS

In his recent adventures, Deadpool has been accompanied by his newest daughter: a giant symbiote dog he affectionately calls Princess. While trying to create a clone of the Carnage symbiote that she could control, the villainous Harrower decided to implant symbiote samples inside Wade's body because she thought his healing factor would make him an ideal incubator. One of those samples gave life to Princess, who initially took the form of extra arms on Deadpool's body in DEADPOOL (2022) #1 by Alyssa Wong and Martin Coccolo.

The symbiote instinctively took to Deadpool, who nicknamed her Renesmee, and she encouraged Wade to pursue a romance with the assassin Valentine Vuong. When another Carnage clone emerged from Deadpool and took the form of serial killer Cletus Kasady, Princess emerged as well in the form of a giant dog in DEADPOOL (2022) #5 by Wong and Coccolo. Princess ate Cletus, fiercely protected Deadpool, and called him "Papa." Princess went on to help Deadpool battle a group of assassins called the Atelier, and she also befriended Lady Deathstrike, whom she views as an aunt.

NEGASONIC TEENAGE WARHEAD

Shortly after Negasonic Teenage Warhead debuted, the precognitive mutant was killed during Cassandra Nova's Sentinel attack on the island Genosha in NEW X-MEN (2001) #115 by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely. Once resurrected, though, Ellie Phimister evolved into one of Deadpool's closest allies.

Right as Deadpool and his Mercs for Money team were hired to capture her, Negasonic Teenage Warhead developed several new powers. She met Deadpool in DEADPOOL & THE MERCS FOR MONEY (2016) #1 by Cullen Bunn, Iban Coello, and Salva Espin, where he rescued her from her captors at Umbral Dynamics and she joined Deadpool's group.

Although Negasonic Teenage Warhead did not always show her emotions towards Deadpool, she stood by his side through some trying times. When Domino took over the Mercs for Money, Negasonic pulled Wade aside and told him that she still considered him to be the team's leader. As mutants and Inhumans went to war in INHUMANS VS. X-MEN (2016), she kept watch over Ellie Camacho, Deadpool's mutant daughter. Even when Deadpool erased his memories, Negasonic stood by his side and served as his assistant until she moved to the mutant nation Krakoa.

ITSY BITSY

Out of a twisted desire to be a hero, a woman known only as Susan Mary became the murderous Itsy Bitsy after she was injected with the genetic material of Deadpool and Spider-Man in SPIDER-MAN/DEADPOOL (2016) #8 by Joe Kelly and Ed McGuinness. While that process gave Itsy Bitsy the powers of both heroes, it also gave her four extra arms, blue skin, and a twisted outlook that made her consider Deadpool and Spider-Man her "daddies."

Itsy Bitsy received her powers from the villainous Patient Zero as part of a plot against Spider-Man and Deadpool. However, Itsy Bitsy wanted to help the heroes and introduced herself to them by killing the Gibbon and Ox of the Enforcers. When the heroes rejected her brutal methods, Itsy Bitsy turned against her self-proclaimed fathers.

Although Spider-Man convinced Deadpool to use less lethal methods, Peter Parker seriously considered killing Itsy Bitsy to stop her rampage. Wanting to spare his friend, Deadpool distracted Spider-Man and seemingly killed Itsy Bitsy by disintegrating her. However, Itsy Bitsy survived in the form of a small spider-like creature.

DEADPOOL 2099

Across multiple versions of Marvel's 2099 future timelines, Warda Wilson—the daughter of Deadpool and Shiklah, Queen of the Underworld—carries on her father's name as Deadpool 2099. After her parents split up, Warda suited up as Deadpool and kidnapped her father while looking for her mother in DEADPOOL (2015) #6 by Gerry Duggan and Scott Koblish. A grown Ellie Camacho saved Wade from years in captivity, and in response, Warda released one of Shiklah's rampaging monsters. With help from an elderly Danny Rand and his Iron Fists, Ellie and Wade went up against Warda, who killed Ellie with liquid napalm.

Once Ellie's mutant powers brought her back to life as a teenager, Wade told Warda that Shiklah was too dangerous to awaken from her decades-long stasis. To mentor her and curb her violent tendencies, Wade uploaded the digital consciousness of Emily Preston into Warda, who then shared the mantle of Deadpool with Ellie. In another version of the 2099 future, Warda joined her timeline's X-Men, helped them defeat Norman Osborn, and settled in the idyllic Oasis X in SPIDER-MAN 2099: EXODUS OMEGA (2022) #1 by Steve Orlando and Paul Fry.

GWENPOOL

Despite their similar names and costumes, Deadpool and Gwenpool are not biologically related. However, they are united by the shared knowledge that they are fictional characters within a comic book. Gwenpool began life as Gwendolyn Poole, a comic book fan in the real world who was sucked into the Marvel Universe. Using her comics knowledge to become part of the action, Gwen bought a costume that a confused tailor designed to resemble Deadpool's iconic look.

As she bounced around the Marvel Universe, Gwenpool met Deadpool in THE UNBELIEVABLE GWENPOOL (2016) #13 by Christopher Hastings, Gurihiru, and Alti Firmansyah. Gwenpool and Deadpool fought in one of Arcade's elaborate traps, even after Gwen revealed she could also break the fourth wall. Gwenpool talked some sense into Deadpool and helped him escape. Since then, the heroes have helped each other numerous times. Gwen even left her beloved pet, Jeff the Land Shark, in Deadpool's care in DEADPOOL (2019) #1 by Kelly Thompson, Chris Bachalo, and Irene Strychalski.

SQUIRRELPOOL

Squirrelpool was created after Deadpool and Squirrel Girl used a malfunctioning teleporter together at an abandoned Avengers hideout in DEADPOOL: TOO SOON? INFINITE COMIC (2016) #2 by Joshua Corin and Todd Nauck. The heroes stepped out of the teleporter and Squirrelpool followed, bearing a combination of Deadpool and Squirrel Girl's powers and clothes. After a brief fight, Deadpool and Squirrel Girl acknowledged Squirrelpool as their daughter, and she accepted the heroes as her parents before she was teleported away.

Later, while investigating a series of murders, Deadpool was captured by Squirrelpool, who took him back to the Avengers base. Having already captured Squirrel Girl, Squirrelpool wanted her parents to use the teleporter again and give her a sibling. But when the Punisher and a murderous demon named Paen-Umbra attacked, Squirrelpool used the last of the teleporter's power to send the demon away. Once Deadpool and Doctor Strange convinced the demon to restore the lives he took, Squirrelpool joined her parents and their friends for dinner.
