The brash SHIELD agent Brent Jackson gained the notice of the Director (Malcolm Colcord) of the Weapon X (WX) program, and had him act as a mole within SHIELD, wherein unrevealed circumstances, he betrayed a black opts team under his command. Jackson was later chosen to capture Wolverine for the murder of Senator Drexel Walsh. He captured Wolverine by using a Life Model Decoy (LMD) of Wolverine's ally, former SHIELD director Nick Fury, clandestinely returning Wolverine to WX.
