Biography

Biography

In an alternate reality, there exists a man known for his death-defying stunts as a marine sergeant and nicknamed Deadpool. He takes his name to new heights as a merc-for-hire, but goes to great lengths to augment himself so he can defeat his enemies, namely mutants.

Codename: Deadpool

While on tour during the Wakanda Wars, Sergeant Wadey Wilson receives the nickname “Deadpool” for his death-defying actions. He formally adopts it as his codename when he becomes a mercenary after the war. He becomes renowned for both his skills and hatred of mutants.

Biogenetic Enhancements

Deadpool is an experienced hand-to-hand combatant, skilled in various unarmed fighting techniques, an excellent marksman, a highly skilled athlete, and adept in the use of knives. He uses a variety of guns including an electric stun gun that is capable of rendering victims unconscious, plasma energy gun, electrical energy guns, concussive force guns and various others.

Deadpool possesses several superhuman capabilities due to the biogenetic, synthetic, and cybernetic enhancements giving him enhanced stamina, reflexes and endurance. Deadpool possesses superhuman strength derived from his augmented skeleton and artificial musculature, allowing him to lift up to two tons.

The cybernetic circuitry hardwired into his system also includes an image distortion cloaking device. The device is hardwired into his system that uses organic light-emitting elements combined with a holographic generator allowing him to disguise his appearance. Cybernetic circuitry within his helmet enables him to control his disguise through mental commands.

The extreme biogenetic enhancement surgery that Deadpool undergoes leaves his face horribly grotesque looking. The skin is removed from his face, leaving only the muscles and skull, placed within a protective translucent metallic helmet. Since he no longer has eyelids, his mask is cybernetically linked to his system to allow the eye sockets to work as his eyelids, causing him to rely on his mask to protect his eyes from light. Because of this, he rarely removes his mask completely from his face.

Mutant-Hating Allies and Adversaries

Closely allied with the Reavers from his time in the military, Deadpool calls upon them to undergo experimentation so they would be better equipped to fight mutants, and they all agree.

Deadpool loathes mutants for being given powers that they didn’t ask or work for, so when Augustus Beezer and the mutant-hating Mojo invite him onto a television show to hunt mutants, he accepts. While on the show, he makes an enemy of Peter Parker, AKA Spider-Man, and Kitty Pryde, AKA Shadowcat.

A Hunter’s History

Eventually Wilson was contacted by a reality TV show called “Hunt for Justice,” where mutants were hunted and killed as the world’s deadliest game on Krakoa Island, off the coast of the sovereign nation of Genosha. The X-Men had disrupted the show, and its producer Mojo Adams and new host Augustus Beezer wanted Deadpool to join the cast as a hunter. Intrigued by the offer to hunt and kill mutants, Wilson agreed if he could bring a handpicked team along with him. Contacting his fellow Reavers from his military days, they all agreed to give up their humanity and undergo grueling biogenetic enhancement surgical experiments to make themselves equal to the task of fighting superpowered mutants and better killing machines. Due to his personal hatred toward mutants, Wade decides to undergo further enhancements to give him more of an edge.

Mojo funded an operation to capture the X-Men, transport them to Genosha, and slay them on live television. Deadpool and the Reavers successfully captured the X-Men, but when Spider-Man arrived at Xavier mansion, they captured him as well. When one of the Reavers wanted to remove Spider-Man’s mask, Deadpool stopped him, having respect for those who used masks to hide their faces. In order to make killing Spider-Man and the X-Men more thrilling for viewers, they were all set free on the island in different areas. Deadpool and the Reavers then proceeded to hunt them individually, but due to the island’s small size, it didn’t take long for them to regroup. During the battle, Spider-Man unmasked Deadpool, discovering that Deadpool had undergone surgical experimentation to such an extreme that his face was now a monstrosity. Feeling betrayed by the same person who he had permitted to remain masked, Deadpool viciously lashed out, focusing his attention on Spider-Man. Just as Deadpool was about to kill Spider-Man, Shadowcat phased through his body, causing his cybernetic body parts to malfunction and explode. Though his foes believed him slain, a beaten Deadpool looked on as Spider-Man and the X-Men left Krakoa Island in the Blackbird.

Wilson later joined the Evil Deadpool Corps under Earth-12101’s Wade Wilson, AKA Dreadpool, and fought the Deadpool Corps. Though he suffered death at the hands of his Earth-616 counterpart, Wade Wilson, AKA Deadpool.
