Biography

Biography

Peter Porker is an anthropomorphic spider-swine hybrid with super powers proportionate to a spider. He uses his abilities to fight injustice in his native reality and across the multiverse.

Porcine Protector

Born on the cartoonish alternate Earth-8311, the teenaged anthrotoon spider, Peter, lives in the basement of unknown super-genius May Porker, his adoptive aunt. Determined to revolutionize America’s hair care industry, May tests an atomic-powered hair dryer on herself. It zaps her with radioactive energy and she bites Peter before fainting.

The radioactivity mutates Peter into either a pig with the abilities of a spider or a spider with the limitations of a pig—one of the two. He revives May, only to discover she believes Peter to be her nephew and herself an ordinary old woman.

Using his newfound scientific genius inherited by his Aunt’s bite, Peter becomes a new Super Hero: the spectacular Spider-Ham.

Scientific Genius and Web-Slinger

Spider-Ham is a scientific genius and creates mechanical web-spinners to replace his now lost natural spinners.

He has super-strength, enabling him to lift around ten tons and leap great distances in a single bound. His precognitive spider sense warns him of approaching danger, and he can stick to and climb up walls. His wrist-mounted web shooters create ropes for swinging, or web-sheets to restrain people; he has made web-sculpted objects, like boats, in certain emergencies.

Sometimes he carries a “pigspider” backpack that contains a change of clothes while in costume. Like many other anthrotoons, he can survive great physical traumas (such as being pressed flat) with little more than aches and pains. Porker is also a photographer, and uses his shutterbug skills to make money at The Daily Beagle.

Direct Opposition

The Quackverian ruler Ducktor Doom is a recurring menace for Spider-Ham. He attempts to conquer the world by creating a living army of super vegetables, but Spider-Ham foils his plans.

Other notable villains that Spider-Ham faces include the Bullfrog, Buzzard, Hog-zilla, Kingpig, Masked Marauder, Pinhead, Raven the Hunter, the Swinester Six and the Sinister Six.

The Inheritors, a race of spider-eating beings from Earth-001, hunt down and kill Spider-Ham’s Multiversal counterparts, AKA Spider Totems. He comes up against them with the Spider-Army and together, they defeat them.

Adoptive Family and Super Friends

Aunt May Porker is Peter’s adoptive aunt and in a hair care experiment, she zaps herself with radioactive energy and bites her nephew, transforming him into Spider-Ham.

Mary Jane Waterbuffalo is Spider-Ham’s girlfriend and later his wife. She is supportive of his dual-identity and even helps him out of tough scraps.

Occasionally, Spider-Ham fights alongside Captain Americat, Iron Mouse, Deerdevil, Goose Rider, and the Fantastic Fur in his native reality. Though he finds himself often transported to other realities and allies with other Spider Totems across the multiverse, and Earth-616 heroes.

Spider-Ham joins the Spider-Army to face off and defeat the Inheritors. In addition to fighting them off, he and Old Man Spider track down and recruit Peni Parker, AKA SP//dr, another Spider-Totem living on Earth-14512, to join them in the battle for all their lives.

A Pig’s Tale

Upon graduating college, Peter Porker took a photography job at tightwad J. Jonah Jackal’s newspaper, The Daily Beagle, to keep up on current events, and as a ready market for Spider-Ham pictures. There he met reporter Steve Mouser, alias Captain Americat, teaming with him several times both as journalists and heroes.

Peter also met the Junior Newsboys—snobby J. Jeremiah Jackal, Jr., brainy Bunsen Bunny, and feline inner-city representative Upton Adam Stray—who, with Porker, often came along during JJJ’s forays in search of exclusive scoops.

Spider-Ham’s rogue’s gallery included Ducktor Doom, who he encountered in the Australian Outback and came up against him and his Royal Court of the Kangaroos; Hoppity Harrison, aka Bullfrog, who attempted to rob celebrities attending a Broadway musical’s world premiere; the Terrible Terriers Gang (Airedale, Boston, Bull, Skye and Wire), who tried to raid the lost temple of the Golden Retriever; and the giant vegetable Chickenstein’s Monster, created by old farmer McDonald to keep developers from taking his land. Spidey also encountered exotic creatures like Tyrannoswinus rex Hogzilla, and B.O., the alien tramp who ate anything not nailed down.

When Spider-Ham inadvertently frightened May into a coma, he found he had to fight through Ducktor Doom’s army of giant mutated vegetables to recover the experimental serum needed to cure her.

Spider-Ham was given a “fashionable” new black costume by the cosmic media executive entity Bee-Yonder, but abandoned it after it proved too fragile for normal Super Hero activities.

Porker was introduced to Mary Jane Waterbuffalo, who quickly became his main squeeze. Though she originally didn’t know of Porker’s other life, she was supportive once she learned of it.

After helping Frank Carple, aka Punfisher, put would-be plumber king Dr. Octopussycat out of business, Spider-Ham was tricked into helping Ducktor Doom fix his relationship with his ward, Kastoff Yurchanz.

Spider-Ham also encountered junior high school crush Sylvia Sowmeister, aka Silver Sow, and college nemesis Flash “Tombenstain” Bear before being brainwashed by Jim Salamander, aka Larval Zombie #1, into abandoning his former life for service in the cult. After Mary Jane finished deprogramming Spider-Ham and he fought off the rival Dee-See cult, Spider-Ham was kicked out after excessively bugging Larval Zombie #1 for his own graphic novel.

Marrying MJ, Spider-Ham then temporarily gained the Captain Zooniverse powers, using them to capture almost all the villains and put them into orbit. He later teamed with Forbush Man (Earth-665), Milk and Cookies (Earth-9047), and Wolverina (Earth- 89923) to stop Negative Forbush Man from merging their three universes into one during an Infinity Warts crossover.

When the Inheritors threatened all the Spider Totems across the multiverse, Spider-Ham joined the Spider-Army to defeat them. He traveled to different realities and recruited others like Peni Parker and her SP//dr suit to help save them all from being eaten by the Inheritors of Earth-001.
