Biography

Biography

Adventurer and squirrel Tippy-Toe is a fearless fighter who will use every resource available, from her claws and teeth to explosives and scissors when up against unfriendly foes that seek to do harm. She joins the unbeatable Doreen Green, AKA Squirrel Girl, to protect others.

Sole Squirrel Survivor

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the squirrel who would become known as Tippy-Toe joins a group of local squirrels to aid the Great Lakes Avengers (GLA) against Maelstrom and his minions, including Georges Batroc, AKA Batroc’s mercenaries, Batroc’s Brigade. Among the GLA is the mutant Squirrel Girl. The GLA wins the battle, but only one squirrel survives, a female dubbed “Tippy-Toe” and given a pink bow. She becomes Squirrel Girl’s new partner and joins the GLA.

Squirrel Power

Tippy-Toe is an eastern gray squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis). An extremely swift, agile climber and a natural acrobat, she can make high jumps up to six feet or horizontal leaps up to 17 feet, and can land safely from falls of 20 feet or more. Her tail enhances her sense of balance, also serving as a makeshift parachute, landing cushion or blanket as needed. She can run up to 20 miles per hour, and can chew through wood, wiring or thin/soft metals.

An aggressive and fearless fighter willing to use her claws and teeth on opponents, she sometimes makes kamikaze assaults via the “fuzzball special” maneuver, in which Squirrel Girl hurls Tippy at their foes.

She has a unique, possibly empathic or quasi-telepathic rapport with Squirrel Girl (perhaps the source of Tippy’s remarkably high intelligence); they communicate fluently with each other, and Tippy apparently understands spoken English, though she is said to be incapable of reading written English.

Proficient in basic handicrafts, she can also use items such as matches, fuses, explosives, scissors, screwdrivers and blenders for making acorn smoothies.

Unfriendly Foes

The former agent of Oblivion called Deathurge, stripped of his cosmic duties and trapped in squirrel form after failing to collect the soul of Squirrel Girl’s slain original partner Monkey Joe, seeks to win back his old job by killing Tippy-Toe and collecting her soul, but all his murder attempts have failed miserably.

In addition to helping the GLA defeat Advanced Idea Mechanics (A.I.M.), Wade Wilson, AKA Deadpool, and the Skrulls, Tippy-Toe and Squirrel Girl have also vanquished major menaces such as Bi-Beast, M.O.D.O.K. and Thanos, proving little creatures can help fell the biggest foes.

The original murderer of Monkey Joe, Leather Boy, tries to kill Tippy-Toe but Tippy is saved by Deadpool, a frenemy.

Super Hero Partners

Tippy-Toe has an empathic connection with Squirrel Girl, which allows them to communicate and they do so fluently. While Tippy-Toe is often by Squirrel Girl’s side aiding her in super heroics, she is also known to be her own squirrel, and goes on vacation or even allies with other heroes like Rocket Raccoon while Doreen’s studying.

A Squirrel’s Chronicles

When Squirrel Girl went up against Bug-Eyed Voice in defense of Speedball, Tippy-Toe stepped in to save the day and contacted Speedball’s manager to meet Squirrel Girl at the GLA headquarters.

On a visit to New York, Tippy-Toe and Squirrel Girl helped Benjamin Grimm, AKA The Thing, defeat Bi-Beast.

Squirrel Girl and Tippy-Toe moved back to New York City but not before they went to Disneyland. When they got to NYC, they saw Tony Stark, AKA Iron Man, flying through the air and agreed that it was the place for them.

Doreen studied at Empire State University but sometimes saving the world came first and Tippy-Toe aided her in super heroics, even going to the moon to face Galactus and accompanying her back in time to the 1960s to confront Victor von Doom, AKA Doctor Doom.

Tippy-Toe once went on vacation, and later teamed up with Rocket Raccoon when Central Park was in danger from Samuel Smithers, AKA Plantman, who had made the trees attack humans.

When Squirrel Girl’s evil clone wanted to get rid of all the humans on Earth, Tippy-Toe did not side with her. But when it comes to the real Squirrel Girl, Tippy Toe has nearly sacrificed her life to save her.

The original murderer of Monkey Joe, Leather Boy, showed up seeking revenge against Squirrel Girl, and tries to kill Tippy-Toe but Tippy is saved by Deadpool who offered an assist.

Later Tippy-Toe and Nancy Whitehead, Doreen’s roommate and best friend, were abducted by the Chtty and the Chrrt-chuks who were searching for a way to defeat Galactus. Since Tippy was involved in his defeat, they placed her into a simulation to trick her, but Tippy gained a portion of the Power Cosmic and tried to punish them. When she was outwitted, she gave the power to Nancy.
