When the Red Skull was on the loose and Captain America went rogue, Nick Fury was tasked with recruiting a team to deal with both issues. He formed a group that would act independent from the publicly known Ultimates. Captain America was captured and brought to a facility that housed the Tele-planes, and he used one of these jets to escape. The rest of Fury's squad were already engaged in battle with the Red Skull, and when Captain America arrived he was grounded by the Skull's Cosmic Cube. Upon discovering the exact coordinates of where his enemy was standing, Captain America jumped the Tele-plane to that spot, fatally wounding the Red Skull and saved the day.
