The Best Moments in Marvel Games from 2023

What a year for games this has been! 2023 was a standout year for many Marvel titles, celebrating everything from historic anniversaries to long-awaited launches and the announcements of new releases.

As we look back on the biggest news to come out of Marvel Games in 2023, we're grateful to the countless Marvel fans who clocked in those hours of gameplay and celebrated with us throughout the year. Together, we're excited to keep playing into 2024!

MARVEL SNAP

One of the biggest news to come out of the acclaimed mobile game MARVEL SNAP was the official PC release on September 22, 2023.

In addition to paying homage to Marvel Comics and the X-Men with the Days of Future Past update in March, we saw plenty of tie-ins to our favorite Marvel Studios films. Among them were Marvel Studios' Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania with the release of the Quantum Realm update and M.O.D.O.K. character release, as well as Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in May.

In October, we also saw an exciting cross-title collaboration, with a stylish takeover across MARVEL SNAP to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Marvel's Midnight Suns!

Marvel Contest of Champions

December 2023 rang in the nine-year anniversary for the beloved mobile game Marvel Contest of Champions, and looking back on the earlier part of the year shows this game has no signs of slowing down!

Starting the year off strong with the release of Battlegrounds Mode in February, we saw multiple tie-ins to Marvel Studios films as well, including Marvel Studios' Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania (with the popular addition of new character Cassie Lang), Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in May, and Marvel Studios' The Marvels bringing the arrival of Photon!

MCOC also released an original character in November with Chee'lith, the latest addition to the Marvel Universe!

MARVEL Puzzle Quest

Celebrating 10 years in October 2023, MARVEL Puzzle Quest is as addictive as ever after a decade! Silver Samurai emerged as the winner of the 2023 Character Poll, while Jeff the Land Shark made a splash as the April Fools release.

Rounding out a strong year of tie-ins, we saw Marvel Studios' Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Loki and The Marvels.

MARVEL Future Fight

MARVEL Future Fight rang in its 8-year anniversary in April, releasing plenty of new content throughout the year. We saw the character release of Cassie Lang in a tie-in to Marvel Studios' Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, as well as another tie-in to Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in May. Another highlight was the March update introducing the Sinister Syndicate.

Marvel's Midnight Suns

Fresh from celebrating its one-year anniversary, the Marvel's Midnight Suns has been featured in other titles like MARVEL SNAP and MARVEL Puzzle Quest. For us, we're still loving the DLCs that dropped throughout the year, including Venom (February), Morbius (March) and Storm (May).

MARVEL STrike Force

Thanks for playing 5 years of MARVEL Strike Force! Celebrating its anniversary in March, we were psyched to see the tie-in to Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in March.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2

In one of the most stunning debuts EVER, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 released on October 20, 2023 to widespread acclaim. Nominated for 7 awards at The Game Awards, including Game of the Year, fans and critics have unanimously agreed that this sequel to Marvel's Spider-Man and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales exceeded all expectations. 

Marvel's Blade

In one of the most-talked about announcements at The Game Awards 2023, Marvel's Blade was the newest title from Marvel Games to surprise and delight Marvel fans everywhere. In collaboration with Bethesda Softworks and Arkane Lyon, this game is still in development, but so far we've been wowed by the trailer and concept art alone!

There's no doubt about it, this year was a memorable one for Marvel Games. We're still buzzing from 2023, but already looking forward to what lies ahead in 2024. Game on, True Believers!
